At the end of a contract, it is useful to both the organisation and the team member to have an exit interview. This will normally be with managers both in the field and, for international contract staff, in head office.

There are two aspects:

The aim of the exit interview for the organisation is learn how to improve the programme and their performance as an employer.

The aim for the team member is to share their experiences and put them into perspective. It may also be an opportunity to discuss career prospects.

The exit interview may also show where further support is required for the team member. See also counseling after critical incidents.
