Appraisals
Appraisals allow a team member and their line manager
to review:
- living and working conditions
- job description
- whether objectives are being met
- whether key behavioural competencies are being displayed
and to agree:
- new or revised objectives
- training and development plans
- any action required by either the team member or the organisation to improve performance where objectives are not being met
Challenges
- Finding the time!
- Ensuring follow up
Timing
- Decision time on confirming contract at end of probationary period
- Departure/change line manager
- Year end/contract anniversary – more often?
