About ActionAid Ireland
ActionAid Ireland was founded in 1983 as an Independent charity in Ireland (CHY NO. 6888) and a Company limited by Guarantee (Registered No. 95403). In 2003 ActionAid Ireland was a founding affiliate of ActionAid International.
ActionAid Ireland supports ActionAid International programme work in 6 countries in Africa (Kenya, Malawi & Uganda) and in Asia (Nepal, Vietnam & Cambodia) funded via child sponsorship through the support of over 8,000 child sponsors in Ireland and funding from the Irish Government via Irish Aid.
ActionAid Ireland has a staff of five three full time and two part time. ActionAid Ireland is a member of Dochas the umbrella organisation of Irish International development NGOs, ICTR and the GBV (Gender Based Violence) consortium. ActionAid Ireland has signed the Dochas code of conduct on Images and Messages, it adheres to the Irish Development NGO code of Corporate Governance and is fully committed to achieving the standards in Fundraising Practice contained in the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.
