About Grameen Foundation Australia
The principal object of GFA is to undertake development and/or relief projects and activities in developing countries, in conjunction with the relevant local community, for the purpose of improving the lives of people within those communities. In particular, GFA's programmes and activities aim to empower the world's poorest people to lift themselves out of poverty with dignity through access to financial services (microcredit) and other local development programmes. GFA was founded in 1998 by Grameen Bank Support Group (Australia) to help and support Grameen Bank, in particular; and, as well, microfinance practitioners and programs worldwide.
