About Oxfam Québec
Oxfam-Québec is a dynamic organization of dedicated people working together for a world without poverty.
We carry out development projects, save lives through the delivery of emergency humanitarian assistance, raise funds to help people in the South, campaign for lasting change, and rally the youth of Québec to take action.
Sustainable development programmes: We are working to build our local partners’ capacities to fight poverty in the long term. Our projects and programmes are designed to meet people’s current needs, without compromising those of future generations.
Responding to emergencies: Oxfam-Québec responds swiftly with humanitarian assistance to support and protect the victims of crises. We also help the affected communities to prepare for and prevent future crises.
Campaigning: In a world where resources are so plentiful, we believe is it possible to abolish poverty. But this can only happen if we eliminate the injustices and inequalities that perpetuate poverty. That’s why we create awareness campaigns. We are working to change ideas, beliefs and behaviour. Our campaigns also target decision makers, encouraging them to adopt policies and practices that will promote development.
